Then build a network of contacts and fans, which are required, I think, to have credibility.

So write better articles, post them on social media, get involved with the daily discussions on forums, and spread the links to your stories online. If you have good network of friends or fan following and keep adding meaningfully to the discussions online, it should all pay off in good time.
